Glen Ellyn Girls Softball Association supports the needs of the House League and the Travel League softball programs. Our goal is to provide a quality program for an affordable program fee. Some supplemental dollars are required to balance our annual program budgets and to make program improvements.
GEGSA does not require the sale of raffle tickets, coupons or candy. We rely on the revenue generated from the Glen Ellyn Tournament concessions in July. A successful fund-raiser not only balances our budget, but it also provides extra dollars used to improve our team equipment, our team instruction and our facility at Ackerman Park.
Surplus dollars have been used to upgrade the bats, to purchase safety helmets, to upgrade catchers equipment, to purchase training videos for our coaches, for pitching and batting instruction, to upgrade the travel teams' appearance, to add lights to the batting cages, to purchase portable batting nets, to add covers for the dugouts, to purchase shelters in the hub area and to purchase new safety bases for all fields.
The participation of all parents from both the House League and Travel League is necessary to ensure the success of this year's fund-raiser. The tournament is July 16th, 17th, and 18th in 2004. Each team will be asked to identify parents who can cover a 3-hour shift on one of these days. Assistance from the House League teams is especially needed on Sunday.
